私の作品は常に、都市空間と自然界の双方で見つけた様々なカタチによって生み出されてきました。私はこのようなカタチの数々を記憶にとどめ、作品の中に活かしているのです。今回の作品は、移り気な風に吹かれて舞い落ちる木の葉が、偶然により大地に多様なカタチを創り出す「秋」――その秋からインスピレーションを得て制作しました。風は地面の落ち葉を無造作に撒き散らしつつも、シンプルで美しいイメージを創り出します。

“My work has always been nurtured by shapes that I find around me, both in urban contexts and in nature. I collect these shapes in my memory and use them in my works. The work done for Palace Hotel Tokyo is inspired by Autumn, when leaves fall from the trees and are directed by the changing wish of the wind, creating shapes on the ground built by chance. The wind spreads the leaves in a chaotic manner, yet at the same time a beautiful and simple image is created.”
